Today after lunch I took Cormacs diaper off and wanted to see if he would use the potty. He hasn't in the month we've been fooling around with it, but there is a first time for everything. He was playing with cars and every once in awhile would place his tushy on the potty seat. I was in the middle of a conversation on the phone with my friend Layla and I saw him leap up and yell "I DID IT!!!!!!!!" I looked in and son of a gun, he did!!!! Sorry Layla about screaming in your ear!!! The light at the end of the diaper tunnel has been sighted. Not that I think he's going to be consistant for awhile, but it gives a mama some hope.

P.S. added Sat.  Today he sat and peed on the potty.  I forgot to talk to him about pushing himself down so the pee went all over the floor, but he did it all by himself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piper started this conversation with me about two weeks ago and it's still going strong.  "When do you think Norman (the cat) will die?"  At first I thought it was love and concern for him, but the truth came out.  "Well, he's not that old.  I'm sure he'll be around for a long time."  "When he does die can we get a nice pet?"  To be perfectly frank, Norman isn't a very cuddly or nice cat.  He has bitten all the children, D and myself on several occasions.  All the relatives are slightly afraid of him and whenever we have playdates, I have to put him outside for fear of him attacking visiting children who don't know to stay out of his way.   Today Piper and I visited the Humane Society to pet NICE animals.   She wants a bunny now.

What shoes to wear while gardening is a serious discussion here at the Lee house. There was much debating and weighing of the pros and cons of the Sleeping Beauty shoes vs the Snow White shoes for Cormac. It was ultimately decided that the Sleeping Beauty shoes had the feathers that fuffle in the breeze. It goes without saying that Piper would be wearing the Beauty and Beast shoe.

we went to Mexico and now we are back. As we were driving to the airport, I asked D if he had grabbed the DVD player and he said, "No, I thought you packed it." come to find out it was still plugged in on our kitchen counter. And so was the camera!!!! Oh well, I bought a disposible camera at the resort, but we are terrible about taking pictures, so you'll just have to imagine the balmy sunshine, pretty blue water and three kids all wanting to do different things at the same time. Con learned how to say "two icecreams, please" in spanish. Piper taught herself to swim underwater. Cormac also learned to hold his breath and go underwater. I'm in big trouble at the lake this summer!!!

Today Cormac had a totally melt down in the car because the Thomas the Train theme song came on and then as it always does, it ENDED!  He really really really wanted me to play it again.  He didn't care for my explanation of radio versus CD's.  All I heard was high pitch screaming and "more Thomas RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW!!!!!!"

Connor is working on nouns, verbs, articles and contractions.  He loves to diagram sentences.  It like a code to him.  We spent a whole breakfast with me writing sentences and him diagraming them.   He is way excited to go to Mexico.   He is practicing his Spanish.   He can identify most vehicles, tell me he loves me and all the colors.

Piper wants to do nothing but art, wrestling and reading books.  She is very proud to be able to sound out most three letter words.   The sheer delight on her face when she figures out a word is awesome to see.   She is happy to go to Mexico.   Connor had her scared out of her wits when we were sort of talking about going to Hawaii with talk of the active volcano.
